The Lake Como Creativity Week – LCCW – <\/em>strategy was created to foster talent, participation and creativity. Each year a range of cultural and other events are organised through a major consultation process into a one-week programme. The aim is to inspire new generations to think outside the box, where creativity becomes innovation and alternative ways are found for the overcoming of obstacles.<\/p>\n

“Explore, participate and be inspired”, is the invitation that guides all the initiatives of the Lake Como Creativity Week, <\/em>seeking to foster a fertile dialogue between past and future. Creativity is translated into new experience in fields ranging from art to craftsmanship, and from sustainable fashion to eco-design, while all adding new layers to the area\u2019s cultural and natural heritage.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The format of Lake Como Creativity Week<\/strong> has been officially deposited as an integral part of the \u2018Destinazione Como Citt\u00e0 Creativa UNESCO\u2019 project, with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism for Municipalities with a tourist-cultural vocation with UNESCO sites and UNESCO Creative Cities: a significant recognition of Como’s role in the Italian cultural and creative scene that is sure to have a positive impact on the local economy, generating new opportunities for international exchange.<\/p>\n

Lake Como Creativity Week was therefore created to enhance the uniqueness of Como’s creative district, making the various experiences dedicated to Como’s Culture of Making more accessible and better known. At the same time, it aims to promote the brand identity of Como UNESCO Creative City and of the creative district, integrating textile-fashion, design and textile-furnishing skills in a multidisciplinary perspective.<\/p>\n

Lake Como Creativity Week fits into a context of strategic redefinition and aims to enhance the cultural wealth of the creative district.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A Europe-wide network of events<\/span><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Municipality of Como, in collaboration with the\u00a0Como-Lecco Chamber of Commerce,<\/strong>\u00a0has introduced a roadmap for Lake Como Creativity Week, designed to ensure the growth and development of the format for Creativity Weeks. This plan envisages the sharing of the results of the first event and encourages the fostering and strengthening of international relations with other cities in the\u00a0UNESCO Creative Cities Network<\/strong>.

The establishment of cooperative action with other UNESCO Creative Cities is of particular strategic importance, with a view to promoting formats, events and initiatives focused on creativity, and establishing a Europe-wide network of events.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In line with this strategy, on October 12th, 2024, and in conjunction with the Day of the Contemporary, the Municipality of Como, in collaboration with\u00a0Fondazione Alessandro Volta<\/strong>\u00a0organised the event \u201cCreativeMakers from Sweden to Como\u201d,\u00a0<\/strong>to promote the exchange of ideas between those from Sweden and those from Como, and strengthen international relations by encouraging collaboration, ideas and projects between young creative people.<\/p>\n

The event was divided into several parts relating to creativity in the fields of textiles, music, literature and gastronomy. There was collaboration with the young creative Swedish people and a number of actors involved in the governance of Como UNESCO Creative City, Trade Associations, and Cometa Formazione and Setificio \u2013 Isis Paolo Carcano. The events took place at the Pinacoteca Civica di Como, which hosted the exhibition\u00a0\u201cVoices from the Nordic Landscape\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0on the Swedish artists\u00a0Britta Marakatt-Labba and Lars Lerin<\/strong>. The exhibition, curated by architects\u00a0Davide Adamo and Marina Botta<\/strong>, explored the identity and fragility of the Nordic landscapes<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
